This page lists information relating to attending the conference. Conference LocationThe conference will be held at the Red Lion Hotel/Conference Center in Portland, OR. The room rate is $89/night. The hotel has now released the Tcl block. To receive this rate, call 1-800-343-1822 and mention the Tcl conference. TransportationAirTake the MAX Train from the airport to the hotel. Red Lion will reimburse the $1.80 for the train fare. You can reach the hotel from the airport by Taxi if you prefer that.
GroundLocalIt will not be necessary to rent a car for the duration of the conference. The MAX Train is free within the downtown area. The entire coverage map for Trimet is here.Food and ShoppingThe Trimet train will take you to Old Town and the Alexis Greek Restaurant. There are other fine places in this area including Kells Irish Pub .The train will also take you to Pioneer Place , and Pioneer Courthouse Square There are several places in this area for eating. Closer to the hotel is Stanford's, and the Llyod Center Shopping Mall. Powells Books (with whole separate technical book store a couple blocks from the main store) is about 10 block walk up Burnside from Old Town.
ConnectivityThe hotel has internet connections in each room and wireless access in the public area. For presenters, computers will be available for use during your presentation. These will be equipped with Linux or Windows 2000 with MS Office or OpenOffice.
